No, but really, it's actually snowing in Alabama! Everyone was joking about it yesterday. About half my friends/peers were thinking it would snow and they wanted to go buy their bread and milk in case we got snowed in and the other half were laughing and saying how stupid everyone was because it NEVER snows in Alabama.
May I remind you of last year when it snowed and little two foot snowmen were all over campus because that's all it snowed.....key point: although there was only enough snow to make a two foot snow man, it did snow!
And it's snowing today too! And actually sticking! There is snow on my car. The national weather channel is covering this story because it's such a "miracle" hahaha.

Frustration.
Soooooo.
I guess I got the dust off the old clubs tournament wise for the spring semester. This past weekend we competed in a tournament at our home course. I was pumped. I was hiting the ball great, I was ready to kick ass and take names.
Day 1: I stepped up to #1 and hit a slight fade. No biggie. Then I hit a solid five iron right at the pin and the wind picked up. And it held my ball in the air and pushed it to the right, right into the bunker infront of the elevated green. "Okay Brit, no biggie, you're practically in here 50% of the time anyways." So I hit it onto the green, and I don't make my up and down putt so I bogie.
Blah blah blah....a bunch of bad shit happens because I'm so fucking nervous and can't get out of my own way mentally because it's my first tournament of the spring season and my teammates were already into their second tournament and I was so freakin' uptight.
Morgan helped me out alot. No surprise there. Ever greatful, she helped me hit the ball straight as soon as I finally saw her....ON THE SIXTH HOLE. : ) Thanks for letting me slap it around like a fool for so long, Morgan.
I left Day 1 with a super sore back with spasms pain. Welcome back to tournament golf. We spent 6 hours on the course.
Day two: I was hitting the ball 100x's better. Had more confidence, was swinging easier with better results off the club face. I was hitting greens more than I had the first day. I felt alot better. Except for the putting. Usually I leave everything short and for some reason, maybe adrenaline, I was putting them past the hole 4 feet. That's freakin' hard to make for par. Golly, what an idiot I was.
End up shooting the same score as day 1 even though I felt I played better. I was so angry. Sure, we played in 40 degree weather with winds and I was windburnt as hell, but that didn't stop a select few girls from going low...why could I have?
Tomorrow, it's back to the putting green. I gotta figure this shit out. Anyone in the market for a YES! putter? Cuz I'm screamin' NO at mine and will be happy to get rid of it.

Grant vs. Lee
Right after the civil war, Lee was held in high regards because he was the "underdog", a symbol of the south's struggle to gain seccession. A big part of his celebrity status as the underdog was due to the fact there were alot of books written right after the civil war and most documenters of that time were from the south , therefore supporters the south's "antebellum ideals".
Basically, the south will rise again! and all that jazz.
The good ol' boys.
Meanwhile, while Lee was personified as the underdog and savior of the southern cause (even though it failed), the same antebellum writers were taking the disappointment of losing the war out on Grant. They were personifying him as a drunkard and a butcher.
Once the civil rights movement happened during the 1950's and 1960's, the roles of the good guy/bad guy changed between the two generals. With the rights and fair treatment of blacks being pushed, Grant became the popular one and Lee was seen as the scoundrel. Why is this? Grant was being called the savior of the slaves, etc. because he was fighting for the Union, therefore for the termination of the slave era.
Lee was seen as a defender of the antebellum south and was put in a bad light.
It is interesting how we can interpret history based on current events, like in the changing of favor between Lee and Grant. It has the chance of switching again. Could this be applied to the Nation's disapproval of Bush and the War on Terrorism? Will we end up supporting it again later on down the road? Unfortunately, in my opinion, that will only happen if another terrorist attack happened on US soil and I don't want to see that day.

CNN.com posted this article giving us five places to visit before global warming destroys them.
1. Great Barrier Reef in Australia
Warming temperatures can spell disaster for coral reefs, which depend on a delicate balance of ocean temperature and chemistry to bloom into colorful displays. Many of the world's reefs already are experiencing "bleaching" in which algae living in the coral die and leave behind whitened skeletons. This reef -- which is composed of about 2,900 individual reefs and is off the northeast coast of Australia -- is seeing limited bleaching now, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority expects the problem to grow in coming decades.
2. New Orleans, Louisiana
Go see this before the waters flood the city. I've been there, almost been shot, and saw lots of boobies.
3. Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado
Basically tiny pine beetles are munching away at Colorado's forests, turning the evergreens a sickly red and destroying large patches of trees. Usually the winters would kill off the little bastards but with warming winters, they can't be stopped from eating year round.
4. The Alpine Glaciers in Switzerland
The European Alps sit at a lower altitude than the Rocky Mountains, and their glaciers and ski resorts are therefore more susceptible to melting away. A climate expert in Austria recently told National Geographic that the Alps' famed glaciers will disappear entirely between 2030 and 2050. A 2006 report had said they would melt by the end of the century. I think this is a must see because of the clear blue color of the frozen monuments.
5. Last but not least, the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil
Basically the rainforest is going through massive deforestation and with raising temperatures in the summer months, it's harder for any vegetation to grow in the dried out soil.
The only place I had planned on visiting before it disappears is Venice. Would you go to visit any of these?

Chris Brown
What a waste of talent. You take two of music's rising stars who are dating. Both have such bright futures and are amazing artists.
Oh, then the boy goes and slaps around the girl. Way to go Chris Brown. Now I can't listen to your music anymore and no one wants to play it anyways because that is condoning violence.
Such a waste of a career, he's only 19 and I don't know who will accept him anymore. I can't take him seriously.
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," the 19-year-old said in a statement released by his spokesman. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."
He added, "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
I think it's so sad that violent relationships still happen today. We shouldn't be afraid to speak out when things get physical. Apparently this isn't the first time that Chris has been physical with her. I hope Jay-Z kicks his ass.
On a lighter and more inspirational note, a man named Dave Mahler established a website--USAtogether.org--that allows veterans to publish their stories and ask for help if they are financially struggling. How awesome is that??? It's almost like if we don't have a loved one in the war, we probably don't even think about it unless it comes on the news while we are watching it. I'm guilty of it. Check it out!

The Dumpings of News
I learned so much interesting stuff today, so I thought I'd dump it here and clear it out of my mind.
A man found a woman living in his closet in Japan. He found her by installing security cameras after he was noticing food was going missing. How crazy is that???
A woman gave birth to octuplets today, and they thought there was only seven. Surprise!!! Another one to send off to college!
So many companies are laying off workers. Por ejemplo: Sprint is laying off 8,000. Wow, Obama needs to fix this crisis ASAP! CNN says that 71,400 jobs were layed off today.
Mexico city cooked the world's largest cheesecake today, it weighed 3 tons.
Speaking of Mexico, with the drug wars taking place around Juarez, there was a man arrested for "melting" 300 bodies for a drug lord using acid.
I'm reading "I Am America: (And So Can You!)" by Stephen Colbert. Here's my quote for the day........
